John M. Anderson (1768-1835) was a Presbyterian clergyman and educator. His son, John Byers Anderson (1817-1897) was an educator, railroad official and promoter of the Union Pacific, Eastern Division. Another son, William C. Anderson (1804-1870) was a Presbyterian clergyman and educator, and his son, John Alexander Anderson (1834-1892) was a Presbyterian clergyman and educator. He was the long-time president of Kansas Agricultural College, and a United States Representative from Kansas.
