Dry plate glass negative depicting the buildings located at the construction site for the East Portal of the Moffat Tunnel in Gilpin County, Colorado during winter, circa 1922-1923. The photo was taken from the south side of the South Boulder Creek valley, looking north at the buildings and railroad tracks. This photo was taken by either Herman Frederick Hall (1893-1984) or his one of his brothers, Herbert Harold Hall (1893-1961) or Edmeaux Homer Hall (b. 1897). The Hall family was a mixed-race family of African-American descent who lived at 2350 Glenarm Place in Denver.
