Letter from Julia C. Stokes of the State Historical Society to the Principal or Superintendent of School in Kersey, Colorado, Oct. 24, 1935 asking for information on place names. On the back of the letter is a hand-written reply from Mrs. E.J. Meikel, Nov. 8, 1935. She states that the town was once called Orr, just a livestock station, then the road master John Kersey Painter gave the station his mother's maiden name, Kersey. Part of the Mini-MSS Collection.
