These snowshoes are made of two pieces of wood that are spliced together at the front of the shoe where it curves upward. It is held together by two crossbars near the middle, and one short crossbar in front of the tail. There are also two thinner crossbars in front of each crossbar. The lacing in front and behind the crossbars is hexagontal. The area where the foot is placed is filled with wide-spaced netting and done with wider sinew strands. All the lacing on this shoe is made of sinew. There is a groove running around the exterior and interior of the two pieces of wood that has been painted red and on interior in some places groove has been left unpainted but above and below this groove has been painted red. Where sinew goes across on exterior of bar is a black leather strap, probably as protection against cutting into the wood. The rounded front part has tufts of hair attached as well as spots next to the crossbars.
